Being an introvert brings special challenges. It can be hard to be heard over the crowd. You might hesitate to take risks. And you struggle with feeling invisible. Because of those things, Laniya was unhappy at her old school and had fallen behind academically.
When Laniya came to St. Peter Claver in 5th grade, she suddenly wasn’t invisible anymore. She made friends and began to share in class.
Laniya, now in 8th grade, is blooming. She has set her heart on Cristo Rey High School. Her grades are improving; she proudly tells you that she hit her goal for progress on the latest math test.
Principal Terese Shimshock has seen Laniya’s confidence grow and knows that the more people who believe in Laniya, the more she will believe in herself.
