Scholars, staff and administrators at St. Peter Claver Catholic School are honored and humbled to be named as a recipient for memorials for Archbishop Harry Flynn, who died Sunday, Sept. 22. “He was a tireless advocate for racial justice, the poor and the marginalized, and saw Jesus in every person, regardless of his or her circumstances,” his obituary reads. “He worked closely with religious and elected civil leaders to promote the dignity of all women and men and make them feel welcomed and valued.” These are the same values held by all of us at St. Peter Claver, where we celebrate the heritage of children of color and welcome all who seek a rigorous Catholic education regardless of a family’s ability to pay tuition. If you have questions about our school or would like to know more about making a gift in memory of Archbishop Flynn, please call Alishia Wright, 612.424.6204.
